Robert St. John

Robert is a restaurateur, author, producer, travel host, columnist, philanthropist, and serial entrepreneur. He has been in the restaurant business for 43 years, 37 years as an owner. He currently owns six restaurants and two bars. St. John has authored 13 books and written a weekly syndicated column for 25 years.
St. John is the creator, producer, and co-host of the television series Palate to Palette. He is also the producer of the nationally acclaimed documentary Walter Anderson: The Life and Art of the Islander, which won two Southeast Emmy Awards. He has several documentaries in the works for release in 2024 and 2025.
St. John is the co-founder of the Institute for Southern Storytelling at Mississippi College, a co-founder of the Independent Restaurant Coalition, the founder of the Midtown Merchants Association in his hometown of Hattiesburg, the founder of Hattiesburg Hundred, and the founder of Extra Table, a non-profit that delivers over six million healthy meals a year to over 62 agencies across the state of Mississippi at no cost to the agencies.
