Brett Kenyon

Brett Kenyon is a small business owner, author, and proud Jackson-area resident behind the social media channel Papa Mississippi, followed by roughly 200,000 Mississippians. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Kenyon has called Mississippi home for over two decades. With humor, history, and the enthusiasm of a tourist in his own state, he uses his following to champion the Magnolia State, uncovering its unknown and unusual history, spotlighting heroes of yesterday and today, and breaking down the civics of state government to encourage broader civic involvement. His content has found its way into Mississippi classrooms, turning social media scrolling into a genuine civic education tool. He lives with his wife Rachael and their four kids, plus a rotating cast of family pets.
