Amy Tern

Amy Tern is the author of SNEAKS, a middle-grade thriller loosely inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window, which earned a Kirkus star and has been selected for the Kids' Indie Next List and the Indie Introduce program. She has worked as a writer and editor in Washington, DC and Japan.

Over her career, Amy's writing has spanned everything from literary short stories to kids' nonfiction, as well as articles, speeches, nonprofit and corporate materials, and a monthly column on her life in Boston for a Japanese magazine, later published in Japan as a memoir. Now, she is working on her second novel, fulfilling her childhood dream of writing fiction for young people.

Amy grew up in Colorado, where she took the mountains for granted and longed to live in Narnia instead. Now she resides in northern Virginia with her husband, two sons, and a petulant gecko. When she's not writing or reading, she enjoys playing the piano, brushing up on her Japanese, and walking in the nearby woods. Discover more at amytern.com.
