Charles Reagan Wilson
Charles Reagan Wilson is professor emeritus of history and southern studies at the University of Mississippi, where he taught 33 years. He is the former director of the Center for the Study of Southern Culture, the editor-in-chief of the 24 volume New Encyclopedia of Southern Culture, and the coeditor of the Mississippi Encyclopedia. Wilson is the author of Baptized in Blood: The Religion of the Lost Cause, 1865-1920 (1980), Judgement and Grace in Dixie: Southern Faiths from Faulkner to Elvis (1995), and Flashes of a Southern Spirit: Meanings of the Spirit in the American South (2011).
