Ryan Steed
Ryan Steed is a Memphis-based photographer and educator. He possesses a deep connection to the American South, and his work focuses on uncovering its contradictions and hidden meanings. Ryan completed an MFA in Photography at Memphis College of Art, where he previously taught darkroom and social documentary photography.
Ryan's solo exhibition, Went Out for Cigarettes, was held at the Cotton Museum in Memphis, and his work was featured in Photography in Memphis at the Brooks Museum of Art. His work has been exhibited across the country and published by Oxford American. He is a founding member of Due South Co-op, a collective of Southern photographers.
