Sandy Grisham

Sandy was a non-traditional student who got hooked on learning at the age of 38 and never quit. She is a former executive secretary, retired community college teacher who was honored many times as the outstanding teacher both in Social Science, and the Humanities. She was honored at retirement by the creation and endowment of the Sandy Grisham Excellence in Teaching Award. Annually, the best of the best gets a $1,000 award in her name. During her tenure at Northwest MS Community College, she was awarded a summer Fulbright to study "Islam through the History and Culture of Pakistan". She often says this was a life-changing journey. In her post-teaching years, she partnered with her husband, Dr. Vaughn Grisham, in community development and leadership training. She loves writing, photography, and world travel. Chief among her favorite careers are wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
