Pamela has three loves: writing, teaching, and music. She combined these passions, creating MyLMNOP, a literacy and music program for early learners. With a B.S., nearly three decades as an early childhood practitioner, literacy curriculum consultant, elementary teacher, and homeschooling auntie, Pamela's enthusiasm for sharing exceptional books in communities lacking quality literacy programming grew. Introducing children to well written literature, whose images mirror those of her learners, is paramount. "My duty is great," states Pamela. "I am a writer who teaches. I am a teacher who writes."
Pamela lives in Natchitoches, LA, where she facilitates her literacy program, MyLMNOP (My Literature-Music-Naming-Oral language-Phonics). Pamela was honored to have received Walter Dean Myers Grant Award, mentorships from WeNeedDiverseBooks, and the Highlights Foundation Diversity Fellowship for Children's Writers. She is overjoyed and grateful for such professional development opportunities that allowed her great growth as a writer and teacher.
Pamela hopes to bring the eyes of a classroom teacher to each narrative she crafts, as she engages children in history, folklore, magic, and the mysticism of her rural Louisiana culture. Her picture book, A Season for Fishin': A Fish Fry Tradition debuted in May 2025 with Farrar, Straus, and Giroux-Macmillan and Freedom's Eve: A Story of Watch Night, 2026.
