Maika Llaneza

Maika is a 1.5 generation Filipina American writer, educator, and monster enthusiast based in Southern Louisiana. Her work has appeared in Sojourners magazine, Inheritance magazine, HelloGiggles, the Stories With Sapphire podcast, and more. She was a State of Formation Writing Fellow and has presented at the Filipino American National Historical Society Conference. Her debut picture book, The Gobbling Goblins - illustrated by Ara Villena and published by MDLC Studio at Disney - combines humor and myth to explore what happens when greedy creatures get more than they bargain for.
