Dr. Preselfannie W. McDaniels currently serves as Professor of English and Graduate Dean at Jackson State University. She is former Chair of the Department of English, Foreign Languages, & Speech Communication in the College of Liberal Arts. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Jackson State University, a master's degree from Mississippi College and a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University, with all degrees in English. McDaniels is an active researcher, who has published in the areas of capstone pedagogy, service-learning, writing boot camps, and 20th Century American and African American literature. She has served as HBCU Committee Chair for the College Language Association and is the current Chair of the Mississippi Humanities Council. She is co-editor of the book entitled Meeting Points in Black/Africana Women's Literature, Africa World Press, Inc.; first edition (April 26, 2016).
