Darden North

Darden's mystery and thriller novels have been awarded nationally, most notably an IPPY in Southern Fiction for POINTS OF ORIGIN and PARTY FAVORS. His other novels include ROOFTOP, THE 5 MANNERS OF DEATH, WIGGLE ROOM, FRESH FROZEN, and HOUSE CALL.

North has moderated or served on writing panels and spoken at writing conferences including ThrillerFest, the Mississippi Book Festival, Killer Nashville, the 29th Natchez Literary and Cinema Celebration, Murder on the Menu, SIBA Thriller Panel, and Murder in the Magic City. He has been Chairman of the Board of the Mississippi Public Broadcasting Foundation and a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the Mississippi State Medical Association.

A native of the Mississippi Delta, Darden North is a magna cum laude, Hall of Fame graduate of Ole Miss, where he served as Vice-President of the Associated Student Body and Editor-in-Chief of the OLE MISS yearbook. He practices gynecology and robotic surgery fulltime at Jackson Healthcare for Women and currently serves as 2025-26 President of the South Central Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (SCOGS). He and wife Sally enjoy their family, traveling, and participating in outdoor and community activities.
