Darden North

Darden's six mystery and thriller novels have been awarded nationally, most notably IPPYs in Southern Fiction from the Independent Publisher Book Awards for POINTS OF ORIGIN and PARTY FAVORS. North has been featured on writing conference panels including Killer Nashville, Murder on the Menu, SIBA Thriller Panel, Murder in the Magic City, and the International Thriller Writers ThrillerFest. He presented at the 29th Natchez Literary and Cinema Celebration on writing in the Southern Gothic genre. A member of the online P2P (Pitch to Publish) Writers Group, his novels are available in print as well as in digital and audiobook formats. He keeps book fans informed with an active social media presence and through his author email newsletter, THE PRESCRIPTION (registration available on his website www.dardennorth.com). North enjoys appearing at book clubs, book signings, and speaking engagements. His anticipated 2024 release is ROOFTOP, the third in the Diana Bratton trilogy. He served as Chairman of the Board of the Mississippi Public Broadcasting Foundation and is a member of the Editorial Board of the JOURNAL OF THE MISSISSIPPI STATE MEDICAL ASSOCIATION. Serving as Editor-in-Chief of the 1978 OLE MISS yearbook sparked his writing and publishing career. A native of the Mississippi Delta and magna cum laude, Hall of Fame graduate of the University of Mississippi, Darden North, MD, lives in Jackson with wife Sally and practices surgical and office gynecology full-time at Jackson Healthcare for Women. He and Sally stay active with family and friends and enjoy traveling and the outdoors.
