Benjamin is a legendary figure in music, known for his work as a producer, arranger, composer, conductor, and music director. He has worked with icons such as Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Outkast, Donny Hathaway, The Temptations, Earth, Wind & Fire, Aretha Franklin, Curtis Mayfield, Jamiroquai, and Gladys Knight. Wright began touring with Ted Taylor and later James Brown, Otis Redding, and Billy Stewart. In 1969, he worked as a copyist for Charles Stepney, Gene Barge, Donny Hathaway, and Richard Evans. In Los Angeles, he became the musical director for The Temptations, Barry White, and others. He arranged strings for Michael Jackson’s Off the Wall and later contributed to Grammy-winning albums by Outkast and Justin Timberlake.
