Allison's historically researched debut novel, Foreign Seed, was released this June by Keylight Books, an imprint of Turner Publishing. Allison's writing has received multiple recognitions, including the 2014 O.Henry Prize Stories, Best Food Writing 2015, and the UK's 2018 Manchester Fiction Prize Shortlist. She is the co-founder of the non-profit, New Orleans Writers Workshop, where in addition to teaching, Allison mentors fellow writers one on one to develop their manuscripts. She holds an M.F.A. in Fiction from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts.
