Carlos Matias
Carlos is a Dominican-American writer and author whose work has appeared in The New York Times, Taste, Bon Appétit, Kitchn, and Edible, though what he’s most proud of is being born and raised in Queens, NY, where he learned the value of community and developed a deep love for empanadas.
His first children’s picture book, Emergency Quarters, celebrates community, family, Latinx culture, and, of course, empanadas.
